I’ve spent my career working inside the commercial greeting card and giftware industry — designing ranges, selling to buyers and exhibiting at trade shows. My work is known for its strong use of colour, hand-made textures and playful humour, but it’s always underpinned by a clear understanding of how the greeting card business actually works.

After studying Graphics and Advertising at Brunel University, I launched my first greeting card company in the mid-1990s. The business grew into an established UK brand and was eventually acquired by Simon Elvin, one of the largest and most influential greeting card publishers in the UK. That experience gave me first-hand insight into licensing, print methods, pricing, margins and buyer expectations — knowledge I now share through my courses and guides to help illustrators avoid costly mistakes.

Selected clients include: John Lewis, The Art File, Design Design, Extinction Rebellion, Pop Shots magazine and Brunel University.
